Once you were a friend to me,
With whom my thoughts could flow free.
I trusted that you
Would always be true
To the silence you swore to keep
And leave my secrets buried deep.
But the world threw stones,
And you left me alone.
You wouldn't look me in the eyes,
And, to my surprise,
You went to join them,
And, from your mouth, I heard my secrets stem.
You betrayed me then,
I won't let that happen again.
